If you are a permanent staff member, you can join the retirement & savings plans as soon as you’re hired, providing your employment contract permits.
If you are a part-time employee, each province has slightly different minimum requirements for number of hours worked per week. Please refer to the Plan Booklet for your province for details.
You can join the plan at any time after you are hired. Once you’ve joined, you can’t terminate your membership or remove your funds while you are employed by a participating employer.
About the Retirement & Savings program
The CBBenefits Retirement & Savings program is an important and valuable part of your overall compensation package – and your financial wellbeing – and features:
- the Canadian Baptist Pension Plan (CBPP) – a Defined Contribution (DC) pension plan, and
- a Tax-Free Savings Account (TFSA).
Both plans are voluntary, and offer you the opportunity to take advantage of very low fees, convenient payroll deductions, professional investment managers and oversight, easy to choose funds, and tax advantages.
My Canada Life at Work provides you with access to your account(s) as well as easy-to-use online financial tools, calculators, and support – to help you with some of your hardest money decisions.
